From Kouchibouguac National Park, we headed south towards the Confederation Bridge that would eventually take us to Prince Edward Island.
On the way there we made 3 fun stops.
SONGS
Winegarden Estates Ltd. in Baie Verte, New Brunswick is a family run vineyard that produces wines, liquors, and spirits made from their onsite vineyard and local fruits. They have a large tasting room but also a wonderful patio. The day we were there, they also had live music. It was a great way to spend an afternoon! They participate in the Harvest Host program so we stayed overnight.
SPUDS
As we were driving down highway 16 (also known as the Trans Canada Highway), we noticed a gigantic, smiling spud waving from the roadside. It was advertising for Blue Road Distillers. Low on vodka, we whipped a U-turn and went in for some tasting. We purchased some vodka, a few vodka coolers, and a gin cooler.
A SPIT
Before crossing the bridge from New Brunswick to Price Edward Island (PEI), we stopped at Cape Tormentine. The pier leading to the lighthouse had seen better days, but the locals were out enjoying the day and the fish were biting. From the Cape, there’s also a good view of the Confederation Bridge. This bridge is the longest bridge over ice-covered waters in the world at 9 miles long.
