It seems that no matter which side of the Mason-Dixon line you’re travelling, the one thing you’re sure to find in eastern states are delightful main streets in small towns. Davidson North Carolina is no exception.
This charming southern college town near Lake Norman was established in 1837. It boomed when it became a railroad stop in the late 1800s, but the demise of cotton farming and other agricultural pursuits, as well as development of highways, ended the town’s role as a farming service center.
Today, this suburb of Charlotte Nort Carolina is full of business that cater to the tourists escaping the larger city and to the college students of Davidson College.
